If you are traveling by, why not stop by Coursey Lake. If you don’t have a problem getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Tanyard Branch, and Coursey Lake Dam is gorgeous. Annewakee River has a delightful whitewater paddling spot nearby. Coursey Lake usually gets a lot of precipitation; March is the wettest month with most rain, and October is when it's the driest. A good nearby hotel is Holiday Inn Express Atl West (I-20) d'Ville Area; stopping by Overmountain Victory National Historic Trail is just something you need to do if you haven't yet. Nearby lakes? Coursey Lake, high temperatures typically reach the 80's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 40's with temperatures at Coursey Lake dipping down into the 20's during winter
nights. This lake is so wonderful. If you came to camp Sweetwater Creek State Park is a great place to do that, and needless to say Tanyard Branch flows through this neighborhood.
