You're almost certainly interested in lakes, Lower Williams Lake is one of those nearby, and camping at Salem Campground is always a brilliant experience. This lake is so wonderful. Golf can be played at Indian Creek Golf Club, and swing by Big Flat Creek it's a good place to take a look at.
After a long day outdoors Quality Inn Covington is a fine site to
 
   spend a night or two, and there's whitewater on Alcovy River for all you adrenaline kick people. Cornish Creek Reservoir sees pretty high levels of rainfall; the month with most of the rain is March; the driest month is September. This is a delightful area for people who like lakes. Upper Williams Lake is a lake in the vicinity; at Cornish Creek Reservoir you can catch a glimpse of Cornish Mountain.

Putting in at Killian Hill Rd , the best white water is just down river from HWY 78 to the Yellow River Park.  Beyond the park is unknown territory....Yellow river at Poterdale can get pretty tough after a good rain. Bring your A game!...water from 124 to porterdale is about 3 feet average in the summertime. lots of fun. easy river. clean too. lots of fallen trees in the water, great wildlife, snakes, turtles and fish. the dam in porterdale is easily passed adn the rapids following are verry shallow. email at coadydraven@yahoo.com with questions....
