You'll stumble on a lovely lake called Smith Green West Lake near Collins Lake, and if you're stopping by from Dalton, you won't be the only one. This lake is so wonderful. Collins Lake Dam is worth taking a look at if you're here, and if you need a place to stay Country Inn & Suites By Carlson Dalton is a wonderful       choice. Collins Lake is a wet spot that gets lots of rain; during the month of March you get the most rain around here while August is the month with the least amount of precipitation. High temperatures at Collins Lake throughout the warmest time of the year are in the 80's. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 60's. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 40's with temperatures at Collins Lake dipping down into                  the 20's all through winter nights. Do stop at Smith Green East Lake next to Collins Lake, it's a lovely lake, and the peaks of the Barren Hills dominate the scenery of this vicinity. This lake is so wonderful. Be careful coming to Collins Lake, you might not ever want to go back home again. The summit of Barren Hills can be made out from Collins Lake, and Collins Lake is nice enough to spend more than a day at, Ringgold Koa Kampground is a nice local campground.
