Hiking along the Bartram Trail is wonderful fun, and if you came to camp Hazel Creek RV Park is a great spot to do that. Lakes are such calm spots, why not visit Steel Lake close to Collins Lake, and Collins Lake is right by the Chattooga Trail. Through the months of summer highs here at Collins Lake reach the 80's. | | the 20's overnight here at Collins Lake. Dry warm beds await you at Days Inn Toccoa; there are plenty of people from Toccoa here at Collins Lake. This lake is so wonderful. There are some great whitewater spots on Big Panther Creek, and while you're here and you like golf, you can stop by Toccoa City Golf Course. This lake is so wonderful. North Fork Broad River Structure Three Dam is an out of the ordinary thing to check out. There's so much to do here | |

at Collins Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Toccoa Rv Park & Campground is a magnificent place for that. There's just no way somebody can get bored here at Collins Lake. Country Hearth Inn Toccoa is a great spot to
get some rest; whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Brasstown Creek. Collins Lake sees pretty high levels of rain; the month of March is the wettest with most of the rain while October is
frequently the driest month. Don't forget to take a great little spree to Carnes Creek; a scenic lake like North Fork Broad River is a great place to take a look at.

Stonecypher Lake
 | ...ch. This lake is located on the farm lands of Palmer Simpson Stonecypher and was constructed in the mid 1950's. The shorelines are constant except in times of heavy rainfall and original life of lake was projected to exceed 100 years. Silt accumulation after 20 years was approximately .5 inche. Normal elevation is apporximately 800'. Feeder streams maintain lake levels even during extended periods of insufficient rainfall and at the same time provide spill into the exiting stream bed. The lake has been pulled down during periods of heavy construction of highways across the feeder streams to allow silt to return to the streams and pass thru thedrain gates. Buena Vista Dr crosses the lake in two places; one being the main dam and again on the Coe Branch inlet. Original construction of dams accommodated these crossings. Over the years sport fishing has been excellent with large mouth Bass, Crappie, Brem, Pike And Catfish, however fishing is limited due to private ownership of property including the lake basin. I have several dozen that are dated Easter Sunday, 1945 (April 1st).? I have being attempting determine the location where these pics were taken.? The only thing grandmother can remember is a name:? Panther Creek Park.? She thought it was somewhere around Corniela.? I found this web page while doing a search for it.? I have included some pics.? The most obvious feature in a lot of this photos is a round brick object that people seemed to spend a lot of time lounging around.? I don't know what to actually call it.? Is this the right park??... |
