For the period of the summer at Collins Lake temperatures are regularly in the 80's, and the nighttime is a little cooler of course, usually in the 60's. Inn Toccoa, and if the weather is perfect, you can go for a hike along the Chattooga Trail. On a great day at Collins Lake you can take a hike along the Bartram Trail; if you've had enough of Collins Lake, Stonecypher Lake is close
by.
There are some great whitewater spots on Brasstown Creek; if you're here and you like golf, you can take a look at Toccoa City Golf Course. The high level of rain makes Collins Lake a quite wet place; through the month of
March you get the most rain around here while October is the month with the least amount of precipitation. This lake is so wonderful. Nearby lakes? Sure, Le Tourneau Lake is near Collins Lake; if you need a site to stay Toccoa Days Inn is a great choice.
