A good close by hotel is Howard Johnson Inn Newnan GA; hey, East Trammel Branch is a delightful local stream. During the long summer days at Colley Lake temperatures are usually in the 80's, and through the night it cools down to the       60's. The winter brings highs down to the 50's, and night lows at Colley Lake during the winter usually dip into the 20's. There are some brilliant whitewater spots on Snake River, and if you've had enough of Colley Lake, Capes Lake is nearby. If you need a spot to stay SUPER 8 MOTEL - NEWNAN is a great choice; if you come at the right time of year, Line Creek offers some great whitewater. The high level of precipitation makes Colley Lake a relatively wet                  place; through March this area sees the most rain, and October on the other hand is the driest.
