If you are traveling by, why not stop by Coles Lake. Hiking along the Scull Shoals Trail is pleasant fun, and Rose Creek is a good whitewater spot nearby. There's so much to do here at Coles Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Commerce Koa Kampground is a good place for that, and Perimeter Inn Athens is a great site to get some rest. Going for a hike along the Falling Camp Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region.
