If you are traveling by, why not stop by Coffey Lake. This lake is so wonderful. A good close by hotel is Best Western Fairwinds Inn & Suites, and on a gorgeous day you obtain a splendid panorama of Fancy Hill from Coffey Lake. Lakes are tremendous; Murrays Lake is a lake that's next to Coffey Lake, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Coffey Lake; Cloer Trail is a perfect local trail. This lake is so wonderful. | | for a hike along the Grassy Mountain Tower Trail, and if you come at the right time of year, Conasauga River offers some magnificent whitewater. Coffey Lake generally gets lots of precipitation; March is when you get the most rain here; October meanwhile is the driest month. Having a perfect time at Coffey Lake is simple. good folks from Dalton here. There's so much to do here at Coffey Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Fort Mountain State Park is a good site for that. If you need a location to stay Key West Inn Chatsworth is a splendid
choice, and naturally, this is a glorious vicinity for folks who like lakes, Lents Lake is a lake in the neighborhood. There's fine hiking along the Songbird Trail. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Coffey Lake has
to offer, you can camp at Lake Conasauga Campground. Summer brings highs in the 80's to Coffey Lake, and during the night it cools down to the 60's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 40's, and overnight lows during the winter for Coffey Lake tend to be in the 20's.

Lake Conasauga Campground
 | ...camping and hosting at Lake Conasauga for the last few years I am very upset about the way people are treating the facilities offered there. As this area grows in popularity, and more and more people use it, I am saddened by the way this beautiful lake and mountian is being abused and trashed. The catch phrase ''Leave only your footprints'' applies to all US National Forests for a reason. One can only assume that you use this camping area for it's beauty and freshness, so why then do so many people leave it in such a mess? To have to pick up over 50 bags of trash, often left scattered about after a non-holiday weekend, is unreasonable. I don't mean to rant or nag, but, it isn't that hard to put a grocery bag in you pocket when fishing along the lake trail and walk out with the trash you create. The hosts in most camp grounds are volunteers and are unpaid. They pay for all of their own expenses to be there in order to keep the grounds and restrooms clean and stocked. So, PLEASE, read and obey the rules posted. Few places are as beautiful as our National Parks, please lets all make tha... |
Panther Creek Trail
 | Make sure you follow trail long enough to get to the creek bottom..it's wonderful!...Hope to get up there in December...awesome views, challenging and dangerous at some points. Definitely will be back... |
