Why not take a refreshing hike along the Bear Creek Trail, and if you're here, you could check out Flat Branch. Summertime highs at Chitwood Lake commonly tend to be in the 80's. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 60's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 40's; winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Chitwood Lake. The high level of precipitation makes Chitwood Lake a rather wet spot;       the month of March is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest month is October. Whohoo, so much cool stuff in one place! Chitwood Lake is so good! A good place for whitewater paddling near Chitwood Lake is Mountaintown Creek; if you came to camp Lake Conasauga Campground is a great place to do that. There's so much to do here at Chitwood Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Plum Nelly Campground is a fine site for that; if you need a location to                  stay Ellijay Inn is a nice choice. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking along the Emery Creek Trail is pleasant fun, and dry warm beds await you at Best Western Mountain View Inn.
