All through the summer months at Chitwood Lake temperatures are regularly in the 80's. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 60's. Highs through the wintertime are mostly in the 40's while Chitwood Lake night low temperatures during the wintertime are in the 20's. Take a side journey to Flat Branch, and after a long day outdoors Best Western Fairwinds Inn & Suites is a wonderful site to       spend a night or two. Just can't get enough of Chitwood Lake. A splendid site to camp here at Chitwood Lake is Nelly Plum Campground; you can have a magnificent hiking adventure along the Emery Creek Trail. Camping at Plum Nelly Campground is always a tremendous experience, and do take a hike on the Bear Creek Trail. Chitwood Lake is close to Chitwood Lake Dam which is a scenic spot unquestionably worth going to; a delightful close by hotel is Best Western                  Mountain View Inn. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking along the Mountaintown Creek Trail is perfect fun; you can run the rapids of Mountaintown Creek.
