This lake is so wonderful. An afternoon playing golf at Forsyth Golf Club is always a diversion, and float down the rapids of Little Towaliga River in a kayak. Childs Pond is a reasonably wet place mostly with much rainfall; March is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest of the months is October. This lake is so wonderful.       There are other places here than Childs Pond, for example Davis Lake. That right there is a lot already, but it keeps on going; Childs Pond has it all. If you come at the right time of year, Towaliga River offers some wonderful whitewater; Childs Pond is a good place to visit for more than one day, Beaver Creek Campground is a good place to camp nearby. Childs Pond Dam has tremendous water scenery and it's near Childs Pond; during your visit here you'll                  meet some folks from Thomaston for sure. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to Childs Pond. Summer nighttime lows fall down to the 60's. Highs all through the wintertime are usually in the 50's, and nighttime lows in the 30's for Childs Pond. Potts Pond is a brilliant lake in close proximity to Childs Pond, and after a long day outdoors Lamar Inn and Suites is a pleasant spot to spend a night or two.
