Paddling on Towaliga River is so much fun; camping is available at Tabernacle Campground. This lake is so wonderful. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is nice on Little Towaliga River. Lakes? Sure, Maynard Lake is close by. And that's not all you can do here at Childs Lake. People from Macon love to come to Childs Lake; Childs Lake Dam is a place that is in the neighborhood of Childs Lake.

| | location to spend a night or two, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always explore nearby McCook Lake. Childs Lake gets lots of water; the month with most of the rain is March; October is when it's the driest. If you need a place to stay Comfort Suites Forsyth is a perfect choice, and while you're here you can take a hike along the Ocmulgee River Trail.
