     Very magnificent water scenery is available at Chief McIntosh Lake Dam near Chief McIntosh Lake, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Allison Lake Wildlife Trail. Chief McIntosh Lake sees pretty high levels of rain; most of the rain falls during March; the driest month of the year is October. This lake is so wonderful. Get your heart pumping on the great whitewater of Big Sandy Creek, and a great close by hotel is Days Inn Jackson. Hiking is a popular  
   thing to do around Chief McIntosh Lake; Ocmulgee River Trail is a great local trail, and why not a little side journey to Aboothlacoosta Creek.
You can run the rapids of Towaliga River near Chief McIntosh Lake, and camping is available at Indian Springs State Park. Life's too short to enjoy all the cool stuff near Chief McIntosh Lake. Playing golf is lots of fun at Hickory Hill Golf Club, and Luce Lake is a nearby lake that you could have a look at.
 
               At Chief McIntosh Lake all through the long summer days highs are in the 80's while overnight lows are usually in the 60's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 50's with winter lows in the 30's overnight here at Chief McIntosh Lake. If you came for an overnight stay High Falls State Park is a nice site to camp; the Kinnard Horse Trail offers hiking at its best. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Best Western Hilltop Inn is a splendid place to spend a night or two, and do stop by McIntosh Dam, it's a stunning lake.

Little Towaliga River
have paddled several streams in area, including high falls from below horseshoe rapids to ga 42. very similar to lil' towaliga - very shallow, rocky, bumpy ride... high water makes for better ride but can be dangerous with rocks, sharp bends in channel w/ falls, rapids around corners, watch out for snakes and (...)....

Is South River a public river all the way to Jackson Lake?...I was just surfing sites browsing facts about the south river and came across this site regarding canoeing the river and noticed you have a put in get out marker. So is it illegal to put in wherever you want along the river if you have somewhere avail?
