This lake is so wonderful. Marietta Campground is a magnificent campground nearby, also West Chastain Lake Dam is worth stopping at while you're here. Chastains Lakes gets a good deal of water; the month of March is the wettest with most of the rain; the driest of the months is October. All our national parks       are tremendous places to have a look at, and Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area is no exception; if you come at the right time of year, Rottenwood Creek offers some good whitewater. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Chastains Lakes. Throughout the moonlight hours it's ordinarily in the 60's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 50's with temperatures at Chastains Lakes dipping down into the 30's throughout winter nights. This                  lake is so wonderful. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always go to close by East Chastain Lake, and lots of people from Atlanta-Sandy Springs-Marietta come here. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the enjoyable things at Chastains Lakes. Stay the night at Kennesaw Koa Kampground, and there are some good whitewater spots on Chattahoochee River. This is a good vicinity for folks who like lakes.
