If you came to camp Pine Lake RV Campground is a tremendous place to do that, and there is a perfect hiking trail close by called the Mounds Trail. Through the summer months highs here at Callaway Lake get into the 80's. Summer nighttime lows sink down to the 60's. The winter comes with highs in the 50's; overnight lows in the 30's for Callaway Lake. The high level of precipitation makes Callaway Lake a reasonably wet place; during March this area sees the most rain,

| | and the driest month is September. This lake is so wonderful. You can run the rapids of Apalachee River next to Callaway Lake; on a brilliant day you can take a hike along the Scull Shoals Trail. This lake is so wonderful. There's some attention-grabbing stuff to spot at Callaway Dam near Callaway Lake. You feel that's sufficient? Just getting warmed up. Not far from Callaway Lake, you'll hit upon Lake Rossie which is a stunning lake, and swing by Bucks Creek | |

it's a nice spot to stop at. Near Callaway Lake you stumble on the Falling Camp Trail which is a fine hiking trail, and if you need a spot to stay SpringHill Suites Athens is a nice choice. Since you might be in a lake visiting
mood you can always check out nearby Tap Lake; a great close by hotel is Comfort Inn Madison. Camping at Hard Labor Creek State Park is always a pleasant experience; at Callaway Lake you always meet someone from Athens-Clarke County.
