Just can't get enough of Burt Lake. The view of Little Mountain from Burt Lake is pretty, and there are tremendous places to look at along the Benton Mackaye Trail. If you need a place to stay Best Western Dawson Village Inn is a glorious choice; in the event that you don’t       have a problem getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Amicalola Creek. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike on the Black Mountain Trail is always a great adventure, and you're probably addicted to lakes, Reece Lake is one of those close by. Super 8 Dawsonville is a fine place to get some rest; why not camp at Etowah River Campground if you're here at Burt Lake. All through the warm months at Burt Lake highs are frequently in the 80's                  with nighttime lows in the 60's. Throughout the wintertime the highs are usually in the 40's, and during the dark hours in the wintertime at Burt Lake temperatures plunge to the 20's. Hidden Valley Resort is a fine local campground, and playing golf is lots of fun at Chestatee Golf Club. Burt Lake sees pretty high levels of precipitation; March is the wettest month with most rain; October is when it's the driest.
