Burke Lake Dam is a gorgeous spot close to Burke Lake, and Lane Creek Golf Club is a pleasant golf course nearby. A good deal of rainfall falls at Burke Lake; during March this area sees the most rain while September is commonly the driest month. All through the warm months highs here at Burke Lake get into the 80's.       Summer night lows dip down to the 60's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 50's; nighttime lows in the 20's for Burke Lake. Going for a hike along the Mounds Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area, and a good spot to camp here at Burke Lake is Pine Lake RV Campground. This lake is so wonderful. Get your heart pumping on the glorious whitewater of Apalachee River, and camping is available at Commerce Koa Kampground. Whitewater                  paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Rose Creek, and swing by East Fork Trail Creek it's a fine location to check out. So much enjoyable stuff to do here at Burke Lake, too fine to be true. Burke Lake is not far at all from Athens-Clarke County, and Comfort Suites Downtown is a magnificent place to get some rest. On a glorious day at Burke Lake you can take a hike along the Scull Shoals Trail. This lake is so wonderful.
