Do stop by Bolton Lake while you're in this part of Georgia. Going for a hike on the Appalachian National Scenic Trail is always a great adventure; Walker Mountain Lake is a nearby lake that you could check out. This lake is so wonderful. A nice site to camp here at Bolton Lake is Leisure Acres Campground. Much precipitation falls at Bolton Lake; all through March this area sees the most rain, and October is when it's the driest. Why not camp at Mossy Creek Campground since you're here at Bolton Lake, and if you don't mind getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Little River - East Fork. is a fine whitewater spot next to Bolton Lake, and you can take a little trip to Bolton Lake Dam since you're here at Bolton Lake. You'll truly wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the entertaining things in the Blue Ridge
Mountains. Piney Mountain is gorgeous and can be seen from Bolton Lake, and close by you hit upon the Whitly Gap Trail which is a magnificent hiking trail.
