The beauty of Blackburn State Park Lake is reason enough to stop by. Whohoo, so many fun things in one place! Blackburn State Park Lake is great! You'll meet a lot of people from Gainesville here, and camping at Lumpkin Campground is always a glorious experience. Going for a hike on the DeSoto Falls Trail is always a pleasant adventure, and it's a delightful idea to pop by Baggs Branch. Life's too short to enjoy all the entertaining things in the Blue Ridge

| | Mountains. Yahoola Creek is a nice whitewater spot right next door to Blackburn State Park Lake, and the Black Mountain Trail is a wonderful hiking trail nearby. Blackburn State Park Lake Dam is not far at all from Blackburn State Park Lake, and close by you hit upon the Brookshire Creek Trail which is a great hiking trail. State Park Lake a wet place; all through the month of March you get the most rain around here, and October is the month with the least moisture. High temperatures at Blackburn State Park Lake through the warm months are in the
80's, and the overnight is slightly colder of course, usually in the 60's. Daytime highs throughout the winter are in the 40's, and after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at Blackburn State Park Lake drop into the 20's.
This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Blackburn State Park Lake you can play some golf at Nicklaus Golf Club at Birch River. This lake is so wonderful. If you came to camp Hidden Valley Resort is a great site to do that,
and after a long day outdoors Dawsonville Super 8 Motel is a good place to spend a night or two. So many enjoyable things in the Blue Ridge Mountains, just tremendous. A great spot for whitewater paddling near Blackburn State Park Lake is Etowah River; if you need a location to stay Best Western Dawson Village Inn is a great choice.
