For the duration of the winter highs are in the 40's with temperatures at Black Rock Lake dipping down into the 20's through winter nights. Rabun Gap Nacoochee School Lake is a nearby lake that you could go to, and a tremendous close by hotel is Days Inn Clayton. So much fun stuff to do in the Blue Ridge Mountains, not enough time. If the weather is brilliant       here at Black Rock Lake, you can go for a hike along the Gage Trail, and Blue Ridge Camp & Resort is a great campground nearby. Yep, outdoors cool stuff truly is bountiful here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. The Blue Ridge Mountains scenery is always beautiful. If the weather is pretty, you obtain a good panorama of Blackrock Mountain from Black Rock Lake, and Stekoa Creek is a good whitewater spot close by. Black Rock Lake sees pretty high levels of precipitation;                  the month of March is the wettest with most of the rain; the driest month of the year is July. What a place this is for outdoors folks. A good place for whitewater paddling in the neighborhood of Black Rock Lake is Darnell Creek, and Quality Inn & Suites Mt. Chalet is a glorious place to get some rest. There's no way somebody can get bored here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. While you're here at Black Rock Lake, you could also pop by picturesque Silvan Lake, and everybody nearby loves skiing at Sky Valley. Black Rock Lake beyond doubt is in the middle of a scenic outdoors paradise. The slopes of Scaly Mountain are so inviting nobody can resist, and enjoy a round of golf at Rabun County Golf Club. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Black Rock Lake you can take a hike along the Stewart Trail, and there's some out of the ordinary stuff to observe at Black Rock Lake Dam in the neighborhood of Black Rock Lake. Going for a hike along the Bartram Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region, and needless to say Billy Creek is a charming stream that is worth stopping at. This lake is so wonderful.
