Big Lake sees pretty high levels of rain; through the month of March you get the most rain around here, and September is when it's the driest. If you don’t have a problem getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Big Clouds Creek, and you'll in all probability meet some folks from Athens-Clarke County here. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking is a popular       thing to do around Big Lake; Scull Shoals Trail is a good local trail, and dry warm beds await you at Comfort Suites Downtown. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always explore close by Oliver Lear Lake, and if you came to camp Watson Mill Bridge State Park is a splendid place to do that. For the duration of the summertime highs here at Big Lake reach the 80's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. For the duration of the                  winter highs are in the 50's, and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Big Lake. While you're here at Big Lake you can play some golf at Sunrise Golf Club, and not far from Big Lake you'll stumble on Beaver Dam Lake which is a charming lake. Life's too short to enjoy all the fun things in close proximity to Big Lake. There's always Big Lake Dam to check out in the neighborhood of Big Lake, and you can go for a hike on the Falling Camp Trail. This lake is so wonderful.
