Camping at John Tanner State Park is always a splendid experience, and not far from Baxter Lake you'll hit upon Lake Haralson which is a beautiful lake. Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites BREMEN is a fine spot to get some rest; there are some glorious whitewater spots on Whooping Creek. This lake is so wonderful. Why not visit Little River Structure Number Two Dam if you're here; dry warm beds await you at Quality Inn & Suites. Baxter Lake is brilliant enough

| | to spend more than a day at, Yogi Bear's Jellystone Camp-Resort is a brilliant local campground, and Baxter Lake is a place with many visitors from Cedartown.
This lake is so wonderful. There's whitewater on Snake River for all you adrenaline kick people. Lakes? Sure, Hatfields Lake is close by. For the duration of the warmest time of the year at Baxter Lake highs are mostly in the 80's with nighttime lows in the 60's. High temperatures during the winter | |

Baxter Lake is a wet place that gets a good deal of precipitation; of all the months in a year March is the one with the most rain, and October
on the other hand is the driest. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the entertaining stuff at Baxter Lake. Visit Baxter Creek since you're here at Baxter Lake, and playing golf is lots of fun at The Lion Golf Club.

... to float a boat in this creek as it is only ankle deep 90% of the way. I have lived on this creek my entire life and have barely been able to find a spotdeep enough to swim in most years. It is however a great place to hike and camp. I dont know much about the adjacent property owners but in 29 years have never been bothered hiking the section between Clem-Lowell road and Hwy 5 (the section you are referring to).The section on the opposite side of hwy 5 is owned by Inland Paper and posted. There are a few property owners on shilo church road that will allow you passage to the water. I have floated a canoe to the river on this section after months of rain, but in general it is also too shallow. There are some deep holes in this section of the creek that offer great bream and bass fishing. The fishing is best closer to the river and it is not uncommon to catch 7# striped bass swimming up from the river looking for food. A gob of nightcawlers or a small rooster tail work excellent for all species. It is a beautiful stream and will not dissappoint for quiet and solitude, but not worth... |
