Go to Baxter Lake if you want to go to a nice lake. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Baxter Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Yogi Bear's Jellystone Camp-Resort is a brilliant place for that, and near Baxter Lake you discover a golf course called The Lion Golf Club. If you need a place to stay Bremen Days Inn is a pleasant choice; get wet paddling on Snake River. Baxter Lake is not the only location nearby, Hatfields Lake

Baxter Lake is tremendous enough to spend more than a day at, John Tanner State Park is a tremendous local campground, and if you're looking for some flowing water? Try Baxter Creek. meet some folks from Cedartown, and Little River Structure Number Two Dam has brilliant water scenery. Summertime highs at Baxter Lake ordinarily tend to be in the 80's with nighttime lows in the 60's. The wintertime brings highs
down to the 50's, and overnight lows throughout the winter for Baxter Lake tend to be in the 30's. I don't want to stop, cause I'm havin' a fine time here at Baxter Lake. If you get bored of Baxter Lake, you could also visit nearby Lake Haralson, and dry warm beds await you at Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites BREMEN.

Whooping Creek
 | 17 miles away ... way to float a boat in this creek as it is only ankle deep 90% of the way. I have lived on this creek my entire life and have barely been able to find a spotdeep enough to swim in most years. It is however a great place to hike and camp. I dont know much about the adjacent property owners but in 29 years have never been bothered hiking the section between Clem-Lowell road and Hwy 5 (the section you are referring to).The section on the opposite side of hwy 5 is owned by Inland Paper and posted. There are a few property owners on shilo church road that will allow you passage to the water. I have floated a canoe to the river on this section after months of rain, but in general it is also too shallow. There are some deep holes in this section of the creek that offer great bream and bass fishing. The fishing is best closer to the river and it is not uncommon to catch 7# striped bass swimming up from the river looking for food.
