There's so much to do here at Baxter Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Strickland Ferry Camp is a fine spot for that; on a delightful day you can stop at Indian Swamp, a swamp right next door to Baxter Lake. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop at nearby Bonnet Lake, and why not pop by nearby Satilla Creek if you're here at Baxter Lake. Whohoo, so much exciting stuff       in one place! Baxter Lake is great! If you need a place to stay Budget Inn is a wonderful choice. Summer at Baxter Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 90's. Summer nighttime lows dip down to the 60's. The winter comes with highs in the 60's with temperatures at Baxter Lake dipping down into the 30's all through winter nights. During your visit to Baxter Lake you'll meet some folks from Jesup for sure, and some exciting geology is available here, Baxter                  Bluff is right here. This lake is so wonderful. If you came to camp Satilla River Vacation Land is a glorious site to do that, and Jameson Inn Jesup is a great location to get some rest.
