The high level of rainfall makes Barnett Lake a quite wet site; most of the rain falls through March while September is the month with the least amount of precipitation. If you come at the right time of year, Apalachee River offers some glorious whitewater, and Microtel Inn Athens is a nice location to get some rest. All through the warm months highs here at Barnett Lake reach the 80's,       and throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. The winter brings highs down to the 50's; after the sun is down all through the winter temperatures at Barnett Lake fall into the 30's. Lots of people from Athens-Clarke County come to Barnett Lake, and there are some brilliant whitewater spots on Rose Creek. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking along the Falling Camp Trail is good fun. So much entertaining stuff near Barnett Lake, absolutely fantastic.                  The Scull Shoals Trail offers hiking at its best; since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always have a look at nearby Lake Wildwood. Pine Lake RV Campground is a glorious campground nearby, and obviously, this is a perfect vicinity for folks who like lakes, Lake Rossie is a lake around here. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Candlewood Suites ATHENS-GA is a magnificent place to spend a night or two; a quick journey to Whitlow Creek is undeniably a good idea.
