     Toccoa Falls is an inspiring place to have a look at while you're here, and don't forget to take a nice little journey to Dead Man Branch. A wonderful lake like Toccoa Reservoir in the vicinity of Barnes Lake is a nice place to take a look at; Rock Quarry Mountain is stunning and can be spotted from here. Barnes Lake is a wet location that gets a great deal of rain; most of the rain falls throughout March, and October is the month with the least moisture. This  
   lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Barnes Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Toccoa Rv Park & Campground is a splendid site for that, and whitewater paddling is splendid on Brasstown Creek.
And if you're still looking for more outdoors fun things just keep reading. You don’t have to go far from Barnes Lake to see the water at Toccoa Water Reservoir Dam; in case you don’t mind getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater
 
               paddling on Big Panther Creek. Barnes Lake is not far at all from Toccoa, and Toccoa City Golf Course is a good golf course close by.
After a long day outdoors Country Hearth Inn Toccoa is a pleasant site to spend a night or two, and lakes are such serene places, why not visit Toccoa Water Reservoir. And if that's not sufficient, there's a lot more to do right next door to Barnes Lake. If you need a place to stay Days Inn Toccoa is a good choice, and there are splendid spots to discover along the Chattooga Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Don't leave Barnes Lake without first going for a hike along the Bartram Trail, and Barnes Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Panther Creek Campground is a great local campground.
Throughout the summertime at Barnes Lake highs are regularly in the 80's. During the moonlight hours it's generally in the 60's. During the winter highs are commonly in the 50's while the cold winter nights at Barnes Lake are in the 20's.

Stonecypher Lake
... foothills of the Smokie Mountains. It is fed by Freeman Creek, McAvoy Branch and Coe Branch.
This lake is located on the farm lands of Palmer Simpson Stonecypher and was constructed in the mid 1950's.
The shorelines are constant except in times of heavy rainfall and original life of lake was projected to exceed 100 years. Silt accumulation after 20 years was approximately .5 inche. Normal elevation is apporximately 800'. Feeder streams maintain lake levels even during extended periods of insufficient rainfall and at the same time provide spill into the exiting stream bed.
The lake has been pulled down during periods of heavy construction of highways across the feeder streams to allow silt to return to the streams and pass thru thedrain gates.
Buena Vista Dr crosses the lake in two places; one being the main dam and again on the Coe Branch inlet. Original construction of dams accommodated these crossings.

Hi!? I am looking for information.? Recently, I have been going thru old black and white photos that belong to my grandmother.? I have several dozen that are dated Easter Sunday, 1945 (April 1st).? I have being attempting determine the location where these pics were taken.? The only thing grandmother can remember is a name:? Panther Creek Park.? She thought it was somewhere around Corniela.? I found this web page while doing a search for it.? I have included some pics.? The most obvious feature in a lot of this photos is a round brick object that people seemed to spend a lot of time lounging around.? I don't know what to actually call it.? Is this the right park??...
