Barnes Lake is a lake worth visiting. This lake is so wonderful. Glide down the rapids of Brasstown Creek in a kayak; Toccoa Falls is an inspiring site to check out while you're here. Throughout the long summer days, highs generally are in the 80's at Barnes Lake, and during the night it cools down to the 60's. water at Toccoa Water Reservoir Dam, and Toccoa City Golf Course is a golf course close by. Going for a hike on the Chattooga Trail is always a delightful adventure, and the vista of lovely Rock Quarry Mountain is nice. If you
want a pleasant time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Barnes Lake. There are splendid places to look at along the Bartram Trail, and if you're here you will meet lots of people from nearby Toccoa. The high level of precipitation
makes Barnes Lake a rather wet place; of all the months in a year March is the one with the most rain; October is the month with the least moisture. There's so much to do here at Barnes Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Panther Creek Campground is a great place for that, and paddling on Big Panther Creek is so much fun.
