Barnes Lake

On Hurricane Creek nearby you come across the 2.52-mile-long GA Route 5 to Mt. Zion Road sector of category IV(V) whitewater. This sweep of Hurricane Creek is fitting for kayak paddlers who have been whitewater kayaking and rafting for some time. Dog River has a type III+ section of whitewater nearby. The 7-mile-in-length GA Route 5 to Dog River Reservoir section is wonderful to run. The GA Route 5 to Dog River Reservoir section of Dog River is appropriate for
paddlers who have been kayak paddling for some time but who are not yet set for the incredibly dangerous rapids. Don't go kayak paddling before first checking conditions; it's dangerous stuff.
