There's so much to do here at Bailey Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Mount Bethel Campground is a splendid spot for that; Yellow River has a perfect whitewater paddling spot close by. A lake close by is Paradise Lake, and after a long day outdoors Cornerstone Lodge Of Covington is a perfect location to spend a night or two. | | the wintertime the highs are frequently in the 50's while Bailey Lake overnight low temperatures during the winter are in the 30's. Bailey Lake gets a large amount of water; most of the rain falls through March, and September is when it's the driest. Having a pleasant time at Bailey Lake is uncomplicated. paddling is great on South River, and enjoy a round of golf at Windy Hill Golf Course. This lake is so wonderful. You could also go to Turner Lake if you're here at Bailey Lake; it's close by. You'll need more than a day to explore
everything Bailey Lake has to offer, you can camp at Salem Campground. This lake is so wonderful. Take a hike on the Kinnard Horse Trail, and Overmountain Victory National Historic Trail is a pleasant local destination.

 | Putting in at Killian Hill Rd , the best white water is just down river from HWY 78 to the Yellow River Park. Beyond the park is unknown territory....Yellow river at Poterdale can get pretty tough after a good rain. Bring your A game!...water from 124 to porterdale is about 3 feet average in the summertime. lots of fun. easy river. clean too. lots of fallen trees in the water, great wildlife, snakes, turtles and fish. the dam in porterdale is easily passed adn the rapids following are verry shallow. email at coadydraven@yahoo.com with questions.... |
