    If you are traveling by, why not stop by Ayers Pond. Man, is there plenty of exciting stuff to do close to Ayers Pond. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Nancy Town River, and Ayers Pond is splendid enough to spend more than a day at, Toccoa Rv Park & Campground is a splendid local campground. The high level of rain makes Ayers Pond a relatively wet spot; March is the month that gets the most rain while October is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
 
   You'll meet a lot of people from Carnesville here; after a long day outdoors Knights Inn Toccoa is a good location to spend a night or two. This is a delightful neighborhood for folks who like lakes. Walters Pond is a lake close by, and camping at Lake Russell Campground is always a splendid experience. This lake is so wonderful. You're perhaps keen on lakes, Fulbright Pond is one of those nearby, and there are some glorious whitewater spots on Big Panther Creek.
 
               Toccoa Days Inn is a nice spot to get some rest, and a journey to Victoria Bryant State Park invigorates the spirit. Throughout the summer here at Ayers Pond, high temperatures mostly get into the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures drop down into the 60's. For the period of the wintertime highs are frequently in the 40's; overnight lows at Ayers Pond during the wintertime typically descend into the 20's.

... Smokie Mountains. It is fed by Freeman Creek, McAvoy Branch and Coe Branch.
This lake is located on the farm lands of Palmer Simpson Stonecypher and was constructed in the mid 1950's.
The shorelines are constant except in times of heavy rainfall and original life of lake was projected to exceed 100 years. Silt accumulation after 20 years was approximately .5 inche. Normal elevation is apporximately 800'. Feeder streams maintain lake levels even during extended periods of insufficient rainfall and at the same time provide spill into the exiting stream bed.
The lake has been pulled down during periods of heavy construction of highways across the feeder streams to allow silt to return to the streams and pass thru thedrain gates.
Buena Vista Dr crosses the lake in two places; one being the main dam and again on the Coe Branch inlet. Original construction of dams accommodated these crossings.

Hi!? I am looking for information.? Recently, I have been going thru old black and white photos that belong to my grandmother.? I have several dozen that are dated Easter Sunday, 1945 (April 1st).? I have being attempting determine the location where these pics were taken.? The only thing grandmother can remember is a name:? Panther Creek Park.? She thought it was somewhere around Corniela.? I found this web page while doing a search for it.? I have included some pics.? The most obvious feature in a lot of this photos is a round brick object that people seemed to spend a lot of time lounging around.? I don't know what to actually call it.? Is this the right park??...
