     There's so much to do here at Awbreys Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Flat Rock Campground is a delightful place for that, and the scenery at Awbreys Lake Dam is picturesque. If you want a wonderful time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Awbreys Lake. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always explore close by Allens Lake, and if you need a place to stay Comfort Inn & Suites is a great choice. Awbreys Lake sees pretty  
   high levels of rain; March is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest month of the year is September. Awbreys Lake is nice enough to spend more than a day at, Highland Marina Resort is a nice local campground, and Awbreys Lake is not far at all from LaGrange.
Not far from Awbreys Lake, you'll stumble on Centralia Lake which is a charming lake; after a long day outdoors Key West Inn Roanoke is a wonderful location to spend a night or two. Summer
 
               at Awbreys Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 90's with nighttime lows in the 60's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 50's, and night lows throughout the wintertime for Awbreys Lake tend to be in the 20's.
This lake is so wonderful. If you're here at Awbreys Lake, you could explore Cedar Creek; a fine place for whitewater paddling is Whooping Creek.

...e deep 90% of the way. I have lived on this creek my entire life and have barely been able to find a spotdeep enough to swim in most years. It is however a great place to hike and camp. I dont know much about the adjacent property owners but in 29 years have never been bothered hiking the section between Clem-Lowell road and Hwy 5 (the section you are referring to).The section on the opposite side of hwy 5 is owned by Inland Paper and posted. There are a few property owners on shilo church road that will allow you passage to the water. I have floated a canoe to the river on this section after months of rain, but in general it is also too shallow. There are some deep holes in this section of the creek that offer great bream and bass fishing. The fishing is best closer to the river and it is not uncommon to catch 7# striped bass swimming up from the river looking for food. A gob of nightcawlers or a small rooster tail work excellent for all species. It is a beautiful stream and will not dissappoint for quiet and solitude, but not worth the hassle for kayaking.
