Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Rose Creek; camping at Oconee River Campground and Picnic Area is always a pleasant experience. Yep, outdoors amusing things to do are beyond doubt bountiful here at Ashley Lake. There's always Ashley Lake Dam to stop by close to Ashley Lake; hiking along the Mounds Trail is great fun. At Ashley Lake you always meet someone from Athens-Clarke County; camping is available at North Shore

| | Resort. Ashley Lake gets lots of water; during March this area sees the most rain, and October is the month with the least moisture. Get your heart pumping on the fine whitewater of Apalachee River, naturally you could also check out Bear Lake if you're here; it's not far at all. This lake is so wonderful.
