     Dry warm beds await you at Knights Inn & Suites Toccoa; you can run the rapids of Rice Creek. Do stop by Cash Pond in the vicinity of Andrews Pond, it's a beautiful lake. There's so much to do here at Andrews Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Victoria Bryant State Park is a tremendous place for that. Andrews Pond regularly gets a great deal of rainfall; the month with most of the rain is March while October is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
 
   Andrews Pond really is in the middle of a picturesque outdoors paradise. Here at Andrews Pond you'll probably meet some people from Toccoa, and Nancy Town River is a brilliant whitewater spot close by. For the period of the months of summer at Andrews Pond temperatures are commonly in the 80's while overnight lows are frequently in the 60's. All through the winter highs are in the 40's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Andrews Pond. This lake is  
               so wonderful. A stunning lake like Goolsby Pond near Andrews Pond is a splendid site to check out, and if you need a site to stay Days Inn Toccoa is a good choice.
You'll need more than a day to explore everything Andrews Pond has to offer, you can camp at Poplar Springs Campgrounds, and hey, Hunters Creek is a brilliant local stream.

Stonecypher Lake
...ke located 5 miles south of Toccoa Ga in the foothills of the Smokie Mountains. It is fed by Freeman Creek, McAvoy Branch and Coe Branch.
This lake is located on the farm lands of Palmer Simpson Stonecypher and was constructed in the mid 1950's.
The shorelines are constant except in times of heavy rainfall and original life of lake was projected to exceed 100 years. Silt accumulation after 20 years was approximately .5 inche. Normal elevation is apporximately 800'. Feeder streams maintain lake levels even during extended periods of insufficient rainfall and at the same time provide spill into the exiting stream bed.
The lake has been pulled down during periods of heavy construction of highways across the feeder streams to allow silt to return to the streams and pass thru thedrain gates.
Buena Vista Dr crosses the lake in two places; one being the main dam and again on the Coe Branch inlet. Original construction of dams accommodated these crossings.
