     Lots of folks from Gainesville come to Anderson Lake; naturally, this is a wonderful region for folks who like lakes, Hickman Lake is a lake in the neighborhood. Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites COVINGTON is a delightful place to get some rest, and Anderson Lake is brilliant enough to spend more than a day at, Campwest Minster is a brilliant local campground. Anderson Lake is a rather wet place ordinarily with a good deal of rainfall; during March this  
   area sees the most rain, and October is the month with the least moisture. Rocky Branch is near Anderson Lake and is always a delight to take a look at, and a tremendous location to camp here at Anderson Lake is Salem Campground.
Summertime at Anderson Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 80's while overnight lows are typically in the 60's. Daytime highs all through the winter are in the 40's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Anderson Lake.
 
               All the outdoors cool stuff in the neighborhood of Anderson Lake will keep you coming back time and again. You don’t have to go far from Anderson Lake to distinguish the water at Anderson Lake Dam, and get your pulse rate up on the great whitewater of Yellow River. This lake is so wonderful.
If you need a place to stay Country Inn & Suites By Carlson, Conyers, GA is a great choice; perhaps you're looking for nearby lakes? Sure, Anderson Lake III is just a very short distance away. This lake is so wonderful. Enjoy a round of golf at Cedar Lake Golf Course not far from Anderson Lake, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Alcovy River.

Putting in at Killian Hill Rd , the best white water is just down river from HWY 78 to the Yellow River Park.  Beyond the park is unknown territory....Yellow river at Poterdale can get pretty tough after a good rain. Bring your A game!...water from 124 to porterdale is about 3 feet average in the summertime. lots of fun. easy river. clean too. lots of fallen trees in the water, great wildlife, snakes, turtles and fish. the dam in porterdale is easily passed adn the rapids following are verry shallow. email at coadydraven@yahoo.com with questions....
