Lakes are good; Cole Lake is a lake that's close to Anderson Lake; why not explore Cole Lake Dam while you're here. Now, you may assume that's plenty but there's even more exciting stuff to do here at Anderson Lake. Whooping Creek is a great whitewater spot near Anderson Lake, and a great close by hotel is Hampton Inn. For the period of the summer months at Anderson Lake temperatures are regularly in the 80's, and all through the night it cools down to the
60's. Through the wintertime highs are commonly in the 50's with temperatures at Anderson Lake dipping down into the 20's through winter nights. This lake is so wonderful. Why not camp at Yogi Bear's Jellystone Camp-Resort while you're here at Anderson Lake, and a quick journey to Boyles Branch is positively a pleasant idea.
The high level of precipitation makes Anderson Lake a rather wet site; the month with most of the rain is March while October is typically

the driest month. If you don't mind getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Snake River; since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always explore nearby Lake Woodfin.
Camping is available at John Tanner State Park; after a long day outdoors Jameson Inn Carrollton is a good spot to spend a night or two.

...0% of the way. I have lived on this creek my entire life and have barely been able to find a spotdeep enough to swim in most years. It is however a great place to hike and camp. I dont know much about the adjacent property owners but in 29 years have never been bothered hiking the section between Clem-Lowell road and Hwy 5 (the section you are referring to).The section on the opposite side of hwy 5 is owned by Inland Paper and posted. There are a few property owners on shilo church road that will allow you passage to the water. I have floated a canoe to the river on this section after months of rain, but in general it is also too shallow. There are some deep holes in this section of the creek that offer great bream and bass fishing. The fishing is best closer to the river and it is not uncommon to catch 7# striped bass swimming up from the river looking for food. A gob of nightcawlers or a small rooster tail work excellent for all species. It is a beautiful stream and will not dissappoint for quiet and solitude, but not worth the hassle for kayaking. Wait till summer and bring an i...
