If you don't mind getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Big Creek; camping at Marietta Campground is always a nice experience. This lake is so wonderful. This place, Almond Lake, it clearly has so much outdoors exciting stuff. Here at Almond Lake there are plenty of people from Atlanta-Sandy Springs-Marietta, and dry warm beds await you at Springhill Suites Atlanta/Alpharetta.       There are great places to look at along the Brookshire Creek Trail, and you're almost certainly keen on lakes, Bryon Lake is one of those nearby. An interesting thing to take a look at in close proximity to Almond Lake is Thurmond Lake Dam, and if you came to camp Twin Lakes Park is a perfect place to do that. A golf course near Almond Lake is Woodmont Golf Club, and Amicalola Creek has a great whitewater paddling spot close by. Doubletree Hotel Atlanta/Alpharetta-Windward                  is a splendid place to get some rest, and Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area is a nice local destination. The high level of precipitation makes Almond Lake a reasonably wet place; most of the rain falls through March while October is usually the driest month. For the duration of the days of summer here at Almond Lake, high temperatures generally get into the 80's while overnight lows are commonly in the 60's.
