If you are traveling by, why not stop by Alligator Pond. This lake is so wonderful. You're perhaps addicted to lakes, Pocosin Pond is one of those close by, and Alligator Pond is a location with many visitors from Cordele. Through the summer highs here at Alligator Pond get into the 90's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 60's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 50's while the cold winter nights at Alligator Pond are in the 30's.

| | Pond gets a lot of water; the month of February is the wettest with most of the rain while October is frequently the driest month. A pleasant close by hotel is Best Western Hawkinsville Inn & Suites. There's so much to do here at Alligator Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Southern Trails Resort is a delightful spot for that. If you need a spot to stay Red Carpet Inn Unadilla is a splendid choice. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Alligator Pond has to offer, you can camp at South Prong Creek Campground.
