     Here at Allens Lake you'll almost certainly meet some people from LaGrange; Highland Marina Resort is a brilliant local campground. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Whooping Creek; getting to Cedar Creek from Allens Lake is simple. Allens Lake is a wet place that gets a great deal of rain; March is the month that gets the most rain; the driest of the months is September.
Allens Lake beyond doubt is in the middle of a scenic outdoors paradise. After a long
 
   day outdoors Holiday Inn Express CARROLLTON is a good place to spend a night or two, and do stop by Awbreys Lake, it's a striking lake. Key West Inn Roanoke is a wonderful site to get some rest, and while you're here, you could also check out scenic Centralia Lake. At Allens Lake all through the summer months highs are in the 80's; all through summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 50's, and after the sun is down through  
               the wintertime temperatures at Allens Lake drop into the 20's.
This lake is so wonderful. Why not camp at Flat Rock Campground if you're here at Allens Lake; Allens Lake Dam has splendid water scenery.

...ave lived on this creek my entire life and have barely been able to find a spotdeep enough to swim in most years. It is however a great place to hike and camp. I dont know much about the adjacent property owners but in 29 years have never been bothered hiking the section between Clem-Lowell road and Hwy 5 (the section you are referring to).The section on the opposite side of hwy 5 is owned by Inland Paper and posted. There are a few property owners on shilo church road that will allow you passage to the water. I have floated a canoe to the river on this section after months of rain, but in general it is also too shallow. There are some deep holes in this section of the creek that offer great bream and bass fishing. The fishing is best closer to the river and it is not uncommon to catch 7# striped bass swimming up from the river looking for food. A gob of nightcawlers or a small rooster tail work excellent for all species. It is a beautiful stream and will not dissappoint for quiet and solitude, but not worth the hassle for kayaking.
