All year is a perfect time in the Blue Ridge Mountains if you adore the outdoors. Cedar Mountain is simple to spot from Alexander Lake, and if you come at the right time of year, Chattahoochee River offers some glorious whitewater. There's so much to do here at Alexander Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Nottely River Camp Ground is a nice location for that; going for a hike on the Chattahoochee       Trail is always a good adventure. This lake is so wonderful. Drift down the rapids of Helton Creek in a kayak; close by you discover the Coosa Backcountry Trail which is a splendid hiking trail. And if that's not sufficient, there's lots more to do in close proximity to Alexander Lake. So much cool stuff to do here in the Blue Ridge Mountains, too great to be true. Dry warm beds await you at Holiday Inn Express BLAIRSVILLE; there is a magnificent hiking trail                  close by called the Arkaquah Trail. A nice spot close to Alexander Lake is Cove Gap, and don't forget to take a nice little spree to Long Branch. Alexander Lake is near Alexander Lake Dam which is a picturesque location positively worth a visit, and you can stay the night at Trackrock Campground & Cabins. Alexander Lake gets a lot of water; during the month of March you get the most rain around here, and October on the other hand is the driest. This lake is so wonderful. Best Western Milton Inn is a great site to get some rest, and perhaps you're looking for close by lakes? Sure, Caldwell Lake is just a very short distance away. High temperatures at Alexander Lake all through the summer are in the 80's with night lows in the 60's. Through the wintertime this place gets highs in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Alexander Lake. If only every spot had this much outdoors entertaining things, what a great globe it would be.
