Getting to Rock Branch from Abernathy Lake is uncomplicated, and there's magnificent hiking along the Ocmulgee River Trail. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the cool things at Abernathy Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Get your pulse rate up on the glorious whitewater of Little Towaliga River, and Providence Hill is a peak you can see from Abernathy Lake. For you golfers we recommend nearby Forsyth       Golf Club, and Comfort Inn Forsyth is a perfect site to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Abernathy Lake; Allison Lake Wildlife Trail is a great local trail; not far from Abernathy Lake you obtain some perfect water scenery at Abernathy Dam. If you want a perfect time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Abernathy Lake. A tremendous spot to camp here at Abernathy Lake is Forsyth Koa Kampground, and do stop                  at Millwood Lake, it's a beautiful lake. Abernathy Lake mostly gets lots of rain; March is when you get the most rain here, and October is when it's the driest. Throughout the warm days of summer here at Abernathy Lake, high temperatures typically reach the 80's. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 60's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 50's; winter nights come with lows in the 30's to Abernathy Lake. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Kinnard Horse Trail; after a long day outdoors Comfort Suites Forsyth is a nice spot to spend a night or two. A splendid location for whitewater paddling right next door to Abernathy Lake is Towaliga River, and there are plenty of people from Macon here at Abernathy Lake.
