This lake is so wonderful. There's wonderful hiking along the Polks Trail, and if you've had enough of Whidden Lake, Mud Lake is nearby. Whidden Lake is a wet site that gets a good deal of rain; of all the months in a year June is the one with the most rain; the driest month of the year is December. Nearby lakes? Sure, Tarpan Lake is near Whidden Lake; Port of the Islands Resort and Marina is a good location to get some       rest. Kissimmee Billy Strand is a swamp near Whidden Lake, and glorious hiking is available along the Bluebird Trail.
