Twin Ponds is a wet site that gets a good deal of precipitation; the month with most of the rain is July, and the driest of the months is October. Camping is available at Alexander Springs Recreation, and after a long day outdoors Days Inn & Suites Tavares - Mount Dora is a fine place to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. Farles Prairie is a good site, and there's splendid hiking along the Baptist Lake Trasil.       A magnificent place to camp here at Twin Ponds is Ocala Forest Campground; hiking is a popular thing to do around Twin Ponds; Flatwoods Trail is a splendid local trail. A tremendous nearby hotel is Microtel Inns and Suites Leesburg Mt Dora, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Prairie Trail.
