Good Life RV Resort is a great campground nearby, and The Westshore Hotel is a fine place to get some rest. This place rocks, just look at all the exciting stuff to do right next door to Star Lake. Star Lake gets a great deal of water; August is the month that gets the most rain while April is the month with the least amount of precipitation. During the warmest time of the year at Star Lake       highs are typically in the 90's. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 70's. The winter brings highs down to the 70's, and after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Star Lake plunge into the 50's. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Best Western Admiral's Inn is a good place to spend a night or two; a golf course close by is Lake Bess Golf Club. There are other spots here than Star Lake, for example Perch Lake; Star Lake                  is not far at all from Lakeland-Winter Haven.
