Camping at Shephard Lake is glorious fun, WHite Oak Landing Campground is a glorious local campground, and a lake nearby is Fields Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Shephard Lake is a nice location to camp, Cotton Landing Campground is a nice location, and don't miss out on       a brilliant swamp; Big Cypress Swamp is right here at Shephard Lake. At Shephard Lake during the warmest time of the year highs are in the 90's. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 70's. The winter brings highs down to the 60's, and night lows at Shephard Lake during the wintertime frequently drop into the 40's. The high level of rainfall makes Shephard Lake a rather wet site; the month of July is the wettest with most of the rain;                  the driest month is April.
