Why not camp at Camp Florida Resorts since you're here at Sand Pond, and Southern Dunes is a peak you can distinguish from Sand Pond. Summertime highs at Sand Pond regularly tend to be in the 90's with nighttime lows in the 70's. The winter brings highs down to the 60's, and night lows in the 30's for Sand Pond. Man, is there loads of cool things to do near Sand Pond. A lake nearby is Double Pond, and dry       warm beds await you at Panacea Motel. This lake is so wonderful. Landing is a good place to get some rest; Bald Point is reasonably close. A splendid place to camp here at Sand Pond is Alligator Point Koa Campground; Chaires Creek is one of the streams close by that might be worth visiting.
