Sand Pond really is in the middle of a picturesque outdoors paradise. Camping at Sand Pond is great fun, Shady Grove Mobile Home Park is a great local campground, and a great spot like Bell Prairie here at Sand Pond is too great to miss. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Suwannee River; since you're here you can play some golf at Quail Heights Country Club. The warmest time       of the year brings highs in the 90's to Sand Pond. All through the moonlight hours it's usually in the 70's. For the period of the winter the highs are typically in the 60's, and during the dark hours in the winter at Sand Pond temperatures descend to the 40's. This lake is so wonderful. You're sure to run into some smiling people from Lake City here, and if you need a spot to stay Best Western Inn is a perfect choice. Have a great hiking adventure along the Osceola                  Trail, and do go to Bell Lake, it's a charming lake. Sand Pond gets a large amount of water; August is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month of the year is October. There are some delightful whitewater spots on Falling Creek, and a great close by hotel is Comfort Inn Lake City.
