Camping at Stephen Foster Folk Culture Center State Park is always a great experience, and whitewater paddling is great on Suwannee River. You think that's enough? Just getting warmed up. If you get bored of Sailor Hole, you could also visit nearby Button Bush Pond; since you're here you will meet lots of folks from close by Lake City. The high level of precipitation makes Sailor Hole       a quite wet place; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain while October is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Getting to Sal Marie Branch from Sailor Hole is simple, and a delightful close by hotel is Lake City Travelodge. Through the summertime months highs here at Sailor Hole get into the 90's. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 60's. During the winter this place gets highs in the 60's,                  and during the dark hours in the winter at Sailor Hole temperatures fall to the 30's. After a long day outdoors Comfort Inn Lake City is a delightful spot to spend a night or two, and why not explore a swamp like Greens Prairie while you're here at Sailor Hole.
