If you are traveling by, why not stop by Perry Pond. Stay the night at Paynes Prairie Preserve State Park; a round of golf at nearby Meadowbrook Golf Club is a wonderful way to kill some time. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a place to stay Econo Lodge University is a wonderful choice, and needless to say, this is a pleasant region for folks who like lakes, Newnans Lake is a lake close by. Sportman's Cove is a good campground nearby; people from Gainesville love to come here. Perry Pond generally gets much precipitation; August is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest of the months is October. Dry warm beds await you at Micanopy Knights Inn.
