Don't try to stop me, cause I'm havin' a fine time here at Perch Lake. If you came to camp Paynes Prairie Preserve State Park is a brilliant place to do that. Not far from Perch Lake, you'll discover Trout Lake which is a beautiful lake; Meadowbrook Golf Club is a good golf course nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Comfort Inn University is a magnificent site to get some rest, and while you're here at Perch Lake it's a great idea       to visit Alachua Sink. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always visit nearby Calf Pond; you'll meet a lot of folks from Gainesville here. Perch Lake sees pretty high levels of rainfall; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain; October meanwhile is the driest month. If you need a place to stay Econo Lodge University is a fine choice, and camping at Sportman's Cove is always a fine experience. Summer brings highs in                  the 90's to Perch Lake. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 70's.
