Larry and Penny Thompson Campground is a great campground nearby, and do pay a visit to Biscayne National Park if you're here at Lake Oakland. All the water falling down from the sky makes Lake Oakland a wet place; the month with most of the rain is June while December is the month with the least amount of precipitation. This lake is so wonderful. A nice nearby hotel is Best Western Kendall Hotel       & Suites, and if you came for an overnight stay Camp Shalom Of Central Florida is a splendid site to camp. All through the long summer days at Lake Oakland temperatures are frequently in the 90's, and all through summer nights temperatures are in the 70's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 70's; through the dark hours in the winter at Lake Oakland temperatures drop to the 50's.
