There's so much to do here at Mud Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Dogwood Acres is a fine place for that; why not explore a swamp like Buckhead Slough since you're here at Mud Pond. For the duration of the warm days of summer, highs ordinarily are in the 90's at Mud Pond. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 60's. Throughout the winter highs       are in the 60's while the cold winter nights at Mud Pond are in the 30's. Stay the night at Vortex Spring; if you need a place to stay Best Value Inn - Defuniak Springs is a good choice. This lake is so wonderful. Do go to Cooeg Pond close to Mud Pond, it's a pretty lake, and a great close by hotel is Defuniak Springs Super 8 Motel.
