On a good day at Mud Lake you can take a hike along the Bear Lake Trail, and there are other sites here than Mud Lake, for example Bear Lake. Mud Lake gets a large amount of water; through the month of June you get the most rain around here while December is regularly the driest month. Lakes are such peaceful places, why not go to Coot Bay Pond right next door to Mud Lake, and Roberts Prairie is a       great place. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Mud Lake. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 70's. High temperatures throughout the wintertime are normally in the 70's with winter lows in the 50's overnight here at Mud Lake. And that's not all you can do here at Mud Lake. Swamps can be such exciting locations, take a look at Tarpon Creek since you're here at Mud Lake, and close by you find the Coastal Prairie                  Trail which is a great hiking trail. Coot Bay is in close proximity and always great to explore, and the Christian Point Trail is a wonderful hiking trail nearby.
