The peak of Bear Lake Mound can be seen from Mud Lake, and a good swamp near Mud Lake is Tarpon Creek. This lake is so wonderful. There is a nice hiking trail right next door to Mud Lake called the Coastal Prairie Trail, and Roberts Prairie is a good place. Mud Lake is a quite wet place regularly with a great deal of precipitation; the month of June is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest month is December.       All through the months of summer, highs regularly are in the 80's at Mud Lake, and throughout the night it cools down to the 70's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 70's while the cold winter nights at Mud Lake are in the 50's. So much exciting stuff to do here at Mud Lake, too great to be true. On a great day at Mud Lake you can take a hike along the Bear Lake Trail, and nearby you stumble on Coot Bay.
