Hiking is a popular thing to do around Mud Lake; Polks Trail is a perfect local trail, and you can stay the night at Big Cypress Campgrounds. Good hiking is available along the Bluebird Trail; after a long day outdoors Port of the Islands Resort and Marina is a delightful site to spend a night or two. A large amount of precipitation falls at Mud Lake; all through the month of June you get the most rain around here while December       is the month with the least amount of precipitation. This lake is so wonderful. The Corn Dance Trail offers hiking at its best. Summertime at Mud Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 90's, and the overnight is a little chillier of course, usually in the 70's.
