     Lake Marae is a delightful spot to visit for more than one day, Windward Isle Mobile Home Park is a delightful spot to camp nearby, and a lake nearby is Alligator Pond. Having a good time at Lake Marae is simple. Lake Marae mostly gets lots of rainfall; August is when you get the most rain here while April is commonly the driest month. A fine close by hotel is Comfort Inn Sarasota, and if you need a spot to stay Hampton Inn Sarasota/I75 Bee Ridge FL is a good  
   choice.
This is a popular site for folks from Sarasota-Bradenton-Venice. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Lake Marae has to offer, you can camp at Sun-N-Fun RV Resort. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 90's to Lake Marae, and the night is slightly colder of course, frequently in the 70's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 70's, and through the dark hours in the winter at Lake Marae temperatures plunge to the 40's. This
 
               lake is so wonderful. Lake Sarasota is a nearby lake that you could check out, and a round of golf at nearby Foxfire Golf Club Barn is a good way to kill some time.

... spotless and the showers are hot and free. You can tell they are working to make this resort a gem. During our 2 week stay they pulled out 2 older trailers and after talking to the residents there will be more to go.
If you are looking for a place to have your younger children entertained this may not be the place to go. The activities planned for them are limited.
The wild life in the park is immense. From the edge of the Myakka River you can see the biggest alligators you ever want to get that close to in the wild. The fishing from the dock was quite good. We saw a Bald Eagle land in the field beside the pool. While eating our dinner we had a hawk land and capture his pray 10 feet from our table. The Owls put us to sleep at night and the wood peckers woke us up in the morning. A good suggestion is to bring fire ant killer. They are abundant in the park.
In previous trips to Florida we have spent all our time in theme parks and this trip all we wanted was beach, beach is what we got,. Within a 10 minute drive you are at some of the nicest beaches in the world. Venice bea...
